The Council of the Association shall consist of:

Election of Council Members
(1) The ordinary members of the board shall be nominated for vacancies on the board with the support of either at least six members of the council of management or at least ordinary members of the association. Such nominations may be received at any time by the council of management and will be circulated to all members. If nominations for vacancies on the council are uncontested by a stated deadline for submission, no election will need to be held and the nominated new council member appointed nem.dis. If an election is necessary due to the nominations exceeding the vacancies occurring in any particular year, the said election will be arranged by an ad hoc committee appointed by council consisting of the Honorary Secretary and association’s administrator plus, if required, up to two other members of the council.
(2) The Junior Members’ representatives on the council will be elected by the Junior Members’ forum of the association. As for ordinary members; nominations must be supported by at least six other junior members.
The Purpose of the Council
The purpose of the council shall be to conduct the general business of the association, on behalf of the members. It will take the initiative in proposing venues and general topics for scientific meetings, and for making changes as necessary in this constitution. Its business will be fully reported, annually or more often as necessary, to the Annual General Meeting.
The full council shall meet at least once a year, usually at the time of the Annual General Meeting.
The constitution of the council should
take into account the spread of scientific interests, experience,
academic reputation, the geographical work place and the general
balance of membership of the association as a whole.
